How Do I Mute the Desk Phone Ringer?

If you do not want your desk phone to audibly ring when receiving calls, you can adjust the ringtone volume or mute it completely.

Option 1: Lower the Ringer Volume

  1. Ensure the phone is idle (not on a call).
  2. Press the Volume (-) button repeatedly.
  3. Continue until the display shows the ringer volume at 0.

The phone will still receive calls and display visual notifications, but no ringtone will be heard.

Option 2: Change the Ringtone Volume via Settings

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Basic Settings.
  4. Select Sound.
  5. Select Ring Tones or Volume (varies by model).
  6. Adjust the Ringer Volume to 0.
  7. Save the setting.

Important Notes

  • Muting the ringer does not stop calls from being received.
  • Missed call notifications and visual call alerts will still appear on the handset.
  • If call waiting is enabled, visual indications for additional calls will still be displayed.
  • Some organisations may use custom provisioning profiles that override local handset settings. If the ringtone volume resets automatically, please contact your system administrator or support provider.

To Re-enable the Ringer

Simply increase the ringer volume using the Volume (+) button while the phone is idle, or adjust the setting through the phone menu.
