This article explains the message "a session exists in this browser" and how to resolve it

Overview

When you use the Agilico Connect Web or Desktop App you create a session to our data centre.  This session handlers all of your settings and prevents you having to authenticate on a daily basis.

On rare occasions you can receive a message that states “A session exists in this browser”.  This is caused by the browser opening two connection to our data centre with the same session information.

The most common causes are opening the app in multiple windows or tabs by accident, a browser crash or a restart of a computer using the Desktop App that has been configured to automatically start on login.

To clear the message follow the steps below relevant to the app you are using

Web App

If you are using the web app:

  • Start by closing the browser tab that you are using
  • Check to make sure that you don't have the app open in multiple windows or tabs
  • Wait at least 2 minutes
  • Open the web app as usual

Desktop App

If you are using the desktop app:

  • Locate the Agilico Connect Desktop app icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar
  • Right click on the icon and select Exit
  • Wait at least 2 minutes
  • Open the app from the Windows taskbar as normal
