What does DNS Domain and Resolution Failures mean?
The Agilico Connect application relies on Domain Name System (DNS) to translate our server addresses into IP addresses. If this test fails, your local device or network is unable to resolve our server names, meaning the application cannot find where to connect.
How to fix it:
- Check Local DNS Settings: Ensure your computer's network adapter is configured to use a reliable DNS server. We recommend using public, highly-available DNS servers such as Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1).
- Flush DNS Cache: Open your Command Prompt (Windows) and type ipconfig /flushdns to clear out any old or corrupted DNS records stored on your machine.
- Whitelist Agilico Domains: If you are on a corporate network with DNS filtering (such as Cisco Umbrella or Pi-hole), ensure that *.agilicoconnect.co.uk is whitelisted and not being blocked by security policies.
- Restart Router: Sometimes local ISP routers experience DNS caching issues. A simple reboot of your broadband router can resolve this.
