This article explains how to reconnect a handset that has lost connection to its base station, or how to pair a new handset to a base station.
It applies to Yealink W60B, W70B, W80B and W90B base stations, used with W5x and W7x series handsets.
Reconnecting Your Handset (If it stops working)
If your phone says “Searching for base” or is not receiving calls, follow these steps:
Step 1 – Prepare the Base Station
- Go to the main base unit (the small box connected to the network)
- Press and hold the paging button on the base for about 5 seconds
- The light on the base will start flashing - This means it is ready to connect a handset
Step 2 – Reconnect the Handset
On the handset:
- Press Menu
- Go to Settings
- Select Registration
- Press Register Handset
When asked, enter this PIN:
0000
Wait a few seconds — the phone should connect automatically
Step 3 – Check It’s Working
Once complete:
- You should see signal bars on the screen
- The phone should no longer say “Searching”
- Try making a test call
Adding a New Handset
If you have a new phone to connect:
- Follow Step 1 (put base in registration mode)
- Turn on the new handset
- Follow Step 2 to register it
If It Doesn’t Work
Try the following:
- Move phone closer to the base station
- Make sure the base light is flashing before registering
- Reboot the handset and try again
Important Notes
- The PIN is usually 0000 unless changed
- The base will only stay in registration mode for a short time
- You may need to repeat Step 1 if it times out
Quick Summary
- Hold button on base (light flashes)
- Menu → Settings → Registration → Register
- Enter PIN: 0000
