Additional Guidance
- There are no limits to the number of button profiles you can create.
- You cannot use the same name for multiple button profiles.
- In larger sites with multiple Agilico Connect admins it is a good idea to establish a naming convention.
- A user can only be assigned one profile at a time.
- Different devices and apps support different quantities of buttons. If you apply a template containing more buttons than the device or app can display the template will be truncated.
- Try to keep the label for buttons as short as possible. There is limited space on most supported devices and apps so you may need to abbreviate to get the best user experience.
- Not all devices and apps support every button type. If you assign a button that a device or app cannot provide, it will be hidden or disabled.
- If you remove a button from a profile, it will not necessarily be removed from a device. This behaviour is different between manufacturers. If you need to force a device to clear a button assign the button type of Spare. This is not necessary on supported apps.
- If you assign presence or BLF keys, note that if the corresponding user is renamed it does not automatically change the button label. You must always change this manually.
- Most supported devices check for changes to their button at hourly intervals. Changes are not immediate. Supported apps check for changes at 30-minute intervals and during the login process.
- The Sign In/Sign Out or Hot Desking feature for supported devices does support button profiles.
