Call Park for Yealink Handsets

This article describes the usage, setup and maintenance of call park slots when using Yealink handsets

Overview

Call park is a feature that allows a person to put a call on hold at one telephone and continue the conversation from any other.

The feature is used by transferring the call into a park slot.  This immediately puts the call on hold for retrieval from another telephone.

Dynamic Parking

There are two different approaches to park a call.  Dynamic parking is where the park slot is chosen by the Connect platform.  It will start at slot one, then slot two, working up until it finds an empty position to hold the call.

This feature is activated by pressing a pre-programmed button, usually labelled Call Park, or performing a blind transfer to the star code *37.  This transfers the current call to an unused park slot and immediately puts the conversation on hold.

Target Parking

The second method is to specify the park slot.

This feature is activated by pressing a pre-programmed button, usually labelled Park n or performing a blind transfer to the star code *370n, where n is replaced by the park slot number.

Park Retrieve

To retrieve a parked call you usually press a pre-programmed button, usually labelled Park n or by dialling the star code *370n, where n is replaced by the park slot number.   If a call is available, it will be taken off hold and the conversation can continue.

First Use and Maintenance

Call park is a feature available to all customers by default.  When used for the first time a call must be parked using dynamic parking not target parking.  This is so that the part slots are created and ready for use.

Maintenance

It is sometime necessary to perform maintenance on the Agilico Connect platform.  This can mean that the park slots are cleared.  If an attempt to target park fails, complete the first use steps and then try again.
