Clear AppData Cache for the Agilico Connect Windows Desktop App

Recovering from accidently denying access to the microphone in the Windows Desktop App

Table of Contents

This article will look at how to reset the windows microphone permissions for the Agilico Connect desktop app where these have previously been denied

Overview

The Windows desktop app is a convenient way to use the web app in a Windows environment.  It uses an embedded browser to provide most functionality.  It is possible to accidentally deny permission to the microphone as part of the setup process.  Due to the fact that the browser is embedded there is no access to the settings to turn the microphone back on or clear the settings cache of the browser.

Solution

If this happens the following steps can be used to manually clear the settings.

Warning

These steps involve accessing sensitive areas of the Windows environment and are meant to be followed only by qualified IT personnel.  Please consult with your IT support team before attempting these steps.

  • Exit from the Agilico Connect for Windows Desktop App
  • Navigate to your user profile local AppData folder either by:
    • Pasting the following into the explorer address bar %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local or run console
  • Open the sub-folder named AgilicoConnectV5forWindows
  • Delete the contents of the folder
  • Restart the Agilico Connect for Windows Desktop App

The app will prompt you to authenticate and will request microphone access as if it were being used for the first time. If prompted, please allow access to the microphone.
