In this article, you will learn how to assign a direct dial number to a user. Please follow the step-by-step process below to successfully assign a direct dial number to a user.
How to check if the number is in use
- Login to the Portal https://customerportal.hp2k.co.uk
- Click the Telephone Numbers tab on the left-hand side.
- You will now be greeted with a new page listing all available phone numbers.
- How to check if the number is in use:
- If a numbers is already in use by another user then you will see their name under Direct Number for.
- If the number appears to be unassigned (there is no user in the Direct Number for column) then click on the Pencil under the Options heading
- On the page that loads, you will be able to see if the number is being routed to a menu, time condition, call group etc
- If this is the case then the number is already in use, you will need to choose another number.
- If the option for ‘Default and Day Destination’ says “Not set - Congestion Tone”, then this number is usable.
- Once you have identified an available number make a note of it.
How to assign a direct dial number
- To assign a direct dial, Click on Users on the left hand side menu
- Then Search for the user.
- Click on the Pencil button in the Options column for the user.
- Locate the Direct Number option in the middle column of the User Details.
- Select the drop down option and then locate the number you wish to assign them.
- Once selected, click the Save button.
You have now assigned the user to the number, to check that you have configured the number correctly, call the number you have assigned an check that it routes to the user correctly.
